Does a Saturday night spent working on papers automatically become a good night if you do it in your underwear?
Six pages on the Tarraco amphitheatre in spanish and I still have two sections left. I don’t even know how long or detailed this paper is supposed to be, so chances are I am overdoing it.
It’s 11 o’clock. I just want to go to bed.

I’m editing my 2nd draft for this article I’m publishing because a PhD student is waiting to help me edit it this weekend and I’m kind of freaking out a bit.

The submission deadline is only a few weeks away.
On Thursday, the entrance to the facultad was barricaded by a student protest against dramatic tuition hikes. Undergraduate tuition at Complutense has more than doubled in the last 5 years.
No one stopped me from entering and going to class (participating in a protest would get me kicked out of the country and I had midterm exams that day), but they did hand me this flyer.

Congratulations! Your work “Murky Drops From Old Pump Rotten: The Old Pump, the ‘Purdue Woman,’ and the Ancient Order of the Dormitory Devils at Purdue University” has received an honorable mention in the Kneale Award for History category in Purdue University’s 82nd Annual Literary Awards Contest.

ROAD TRIP
This summer, I will be taking an east-coast road trip with my mother to visit grad schools. Wooooooooo!
We’ll be hitting:
- Princeton University (Princeton, NJ)
- Columbia University (New York, NY)
- Harvard University (Cambridge, MA)
- Yale University (New Haven, CT)
Not necessarily in that order.
On the other hand, I’m not certain that I am ready for actual adulthood.

Transcontinental nerdom
I had my first práctica today in Arte Romano. We were asked to do group presentations of the iconography of various Etruscan tombs. Mine ended up being a partner project, because the third member of our group was absent.
That’s how I met Rebeca. Her friend got really excited about the deathly hallows sticker on my laptop, then she was really happy to see my Han Solo desktop. Later we discovered that we’re both big Lord of the Rings (El Señor de los Anillos) fans.
Aw yeah. Making global nerd friends.

If I take two more classes next year, I could get a third minor in Art History. I am trying to decide whether another minor is worth a heavier schedule my senior year. One of the classes would also count toward my American Studies major. Hmmmm…
Don’t get me wrong, I prefer a paper to a final exam almost any day, but right now I really don’t want to finish this essay.

A high school senior shadowed me today who told me that she applied to almost every university in the country that uses the common app.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. THAT IS, LIKE, 20 DIFFERENT ESSAYS.
